Health & Estimation Disclaimer
SnapStepsCalc provides informational and educational estimation tools for walking, step counts, distance and energy expenditure. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
Results are estimates
Every number on this site is produced by a transparent model using population-average assumptions — an average adult stride and MET-based energy expenditure. Individual stride length varies with height, leg length, pace, terrain and walking style, and individual energy expenditure varies with body composition, fitness, efficiency and conditions. Two people walking the same number of steps can cover noticeably different distances and burn noticeably different amounts of energy.

Health research references
Where we reference step-count research (for example WHO activity guidance or cohort studies on step counts and mortality), those findings describe observed associations in populations. They are not promises about any individual outcome, and we describe them as associations rather than guaranteed effects.
Not medical advice
Do not use these estimates to diagnose, treat or manage a medical condition, and do not use them as a substitute for professional guidance. If you have a health condition, are pregnant, are recovering from injury, or are starting a new activity programme, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
